Yeah! Drupal is starting to get out of the box. OK at the moment (15th january 2010) it's only Drupal 7 alpha 1 but it's a start.
You can download it and try it on your server in order to see how beautiful it is and what are the new features.

Today I'd like to write down a little trick I've been using for years in some of my sites, it's about using CSS to float an image or an adsense block so that the text flows around it.

But as you may know, one of the issues with this float:left or float:right is that the text will flows on the side and below, but not above.
So how to have the floated image inside the text, so that it flows around it?

Well, it's not really a How-to article, but rather a bit of news about what I've been doing very lately.

I created a file search engine by using Google Search API. I first used Google Search API in the past when I wanted to add a bit of content automatically to each pages I created. I was pulling the first 8 results from Google Search API and displaying the title and description of the 8 results, and then lower I was displaying 3 links at random amongst the 8 results.

That's a question for those who use themes provided by others and found on Drupal.org but want to add a region somewhere in the theme, most usual place would be above the content, because the CONTENT region which already exists in most themes is indeed after the content, so when you put a block in the CONTENT region it ends up after everything, one node, the tags, the comments, etc.

It's been a hell of a time getting Drigg for Drupal 6 out the door, but this afternoon Tony Mobily has released this long-delayed update to this Digg-like module for Drupal. Eleven months after the first Drigg for Drupal 5 release and nine months after Drupal 6.0 was released, yes, it's finally here!

This is great news because my blog and lots of my websites are made with Drupal and I'm everyday happier not to have chosen Joomla when I was still evaluating both and hesitating.

Several celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Leonardo Dicaprio made a video about not going to vote, and then going to vote and then that you have to go to vote, well fuck them, don't let them tell you what you should think. If you think obama or mccain are two motherfuckers who believe in an imaginary friend called Jesus and that both don't deserve even a second of your precious time, then fuck it, one or the other is going to be elected ANYWAY..

Today I received an email sent via the whois information email and one via the contact form on this site. The message came from Aimee Gessner, a legal counsel at the BMW group. It is about Trademark Infringement, because I used their logo where I only changed the colors, using the colors from Google's logo :

Download Google Chrome

I've just downloaded and installed Google Chrome beta which is the first web browser from Google. It's an open source browser just like Mozilla Firefox, but the difference is that each tab is a separate application, which means there will be no more browser freezing because of one bug in one of the opened tabs, with Google Chrome, only the tab in which the buggy page is loaded will be frozen, the rest of the tabs will still be active and running, good.
Also the layout of the browser is such that the interface is quite invisible, for instance there is no windows title bar or status bar, so it saves about 32 pixels in height compared to other browsers when not in fullview.
